Alexandra Athay

Alexandra spent many years as an Art Director in a Marketing and Design company. She started her creative life studying on various Art & Design and Graphics courses and finishing by obtaining her degree. She is very enthusiastic about art in all it's entirety and the community support that the creative industry offers to inspire individuals.

She has now ventured back into painting, as her first love, and is concentrating more on abstract and collage work which highlights her passion for colour, imagery and typography. Muted colours with a flash of vibrancy excites the senses and gives a focal point for the viewer to anchor their thoughts and expand from there.

"It's really important for viewers to feel connected to the piece they are studying. They search for an emotion, an energy that speaks to them alone. This is why art is so subjective, much like when we meet other people - we either bond with that person or we simply do not!"
